Volunteer: Botanical Gardens at Asheville

The Botanical Gardens at Asheville is located in the Southern Appalachian Mountains, one of the most diverse temperate ecosystems in the world. Our mission is the preservation and promotion of the native plant species and habitats of these mountains. We hope to increase public awareness of this region’s unique botanical diversity by maintaining gardens for the enjoyment of the public and by providing educational programs and research resources for the community. The Cole Library of The Botanical Gardens at Asheville contains more than 1000 books relating to botany, horticulture, ecology, and ornithology.

Volunteer: Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity

Volunteers are the heart of Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity. Over 1,800 people volunteer with us each year. Asheville Habitat has a variety of volunteer opportunities where you can partner with others to help fulfill our mission of building simple, decent houses for families currently living in inadequate conditions. In addition, you will have an opportunity to learn new skills and meet a variety of people.

Volunteer: The Health Adventure

The Health Adventure, Asheville's Family Health & Science Museum, provides a rich environment for community members to volunteer their time and skills on behalf of health and science education. Volunteer opportunities include everything from committee work, behind-the-scenes administrative tasks and internships to live performances!
